A message dated July 26, 2004, was received stating the Governor is                                 
transmitting the engrossed and enrolled copies of the following

      CS FOR HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 48(RLS)                                                     
      Sending a message of goodwill to President Chen Shui-bian and to                              
      the people of Taiwan, and reaffirming the Alaska State                                        
      Legislature's 2003 resolution urging the United States Congress to                            
      support the granting of official Observer Status to the Republic of                           
      China on Taiwan and to support negotiation of a free trade
